Abstract
ABSTRACT THE storage capacity of sumps for pumped outlets of subsurface drainage systems often can be reduced in size and cost by using the disposal tile for supplementary storage. The practice is feasible where the disposal tile can be placed at an elevation below the grade of the col-lector tiles so that its periodic submergence does not in-terfere with drainage. This paper describes procedures for the design of sumps when additional storage is available in the disposal tile.
