Abstract
In this paper the degradation of malachite green by electrochemical method was studied. The effects of initial solution concentrations, temperatures, pH values, voltage, immersed electrode depths on degradation were all investigated. The results showed that malachite green was easily degraded when the solution was alkaline. High temperatures promoted the degradation. Kinetic data demonstrated that the rate of degradation could be expressed as first order.
