The species considered pathogenic for man has been principally Actinomyces israeli (1). The following case report describes disease associated with an additional Actinomyces species:A 26-year-old college instructor admitted 10 March 1974 was well until 1 month before hospitalization, when a subcutaneous mass was noted in the left anterolateral chest that gradually increased in size and tenderness. Physical examination revealed an oral temperature of 37.8 °C (100 °F), and two chest wall masses. The first was an 11 X 15 cm firm mass...References1.
