Abstract

Adequate measures of parenting knowledge are necessary for understanding the role of such knowledge in child development, for the evaluation of parent education programs, and for the measurement of individuals in practice. The present study examined the construct validity of three measures of parenting knowledge using confirmatory factor analysis performed with LISREL, an especially powerful and general computer program for testing and estimating a wide range of models. Results indicate support for the construct validity of the three measures.
