Abstract

Spin - labeled drugs have proved to be a valuable investigative tool in the study of drug - membrane and drug - receptor interactions1. Since we are interested in the membrane action of tricyclic antidepressants, we have decided to synthetize some spin - labeled analogs of imipramine. These compounds are expected to be useful paramagnetic probes which could be used in further elucidation of interactions of tricyclic antidepressants with membranes and receptors.
