Abstract

A SOLID, capable of detecting as well as measuring the amount of radiation and composed of several easily controlled organic molecules that can be prepared economically, has been devised for experimental and clinical applications.1 Owing to its characteristics it offers some completely new possibilities. By gross visual inspection it has permitted the study of radiation effects in a material whose density can be made closely equivalent to that of living tissues. The structural complex has been considered an in-phantom chemical radiation dosimeter where the dosimeter is the phantom and the phantom itself is a dosimeter. The system contains specific chemicals . . .
