Abstract

Abstract The potential transfer of an oxygen atom from dioxiranes to a ketonic carbonyl group is disproved by appropriate D‐ and 13C‐labelling. As shown by 13C NMR spectroscopy bis(trideuteriomethyl)dioxirane and [carbonyl‐13C]acetone are not in equilibrium with [D6]acetone and [3‐13C]dimethyldioxirane. (© Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
