Abstract
A 2.5 GHz LC voltage controlled oscillator with low phase noise design and optimization is presented. The LC VCO is implemented in 0.18-μm CMOS technology and used for wireless local area network. The proposed VCO achieves phase noise of -128.7 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset, -105.4 dBc/Hz at 100 KHz offset, 11% tuning range while consuming 3mA in 0.18 V supply.
