Abstract
The leaf essential oils of Neomirandea angularis (Asteraceae), from Monteverde, Costa Rica, was isolated by hydrodistillation and analyzed by GC-MS. A total of 15 compounds were identified in the leaf oil, dominated by the sesquiterpene hydrocarbons germacrene D (83.2 %) and β-selinene (10.5 %). The leaf oil showed marginal antibacterial activity against Bacillus cereus, attributable to the major component, germacrene D.
