Abstract

SUMMARY The new long‐acting local anaesthetic LAC‐43 (Marcaine) was compared with mepivacaine (Carbocaine) and tetracaine (Pontocaine) in caudal anaesthesia. A mean duration of 8‐10 hours was obtained with 0.5% LAC‐43 with epinephrine 1:200,000. No appreciable side reactions were observed.
