Abstract
Three antihistamine agents, Phenergan, Benzodionole, and Trimeton have been studied for their ability to antagonize the hypertensive and cardiovascular-renal effects of desoxycorticosterone acetate in the unilaterally-nephrectomized, salt-treated, castrate male rat. In the order named all compounds produced only slight inhibition of the hypertensive and cardiotrophic action of desoxycorticosterone acetate and afforded virtually no protection against either the nephrotrophic or angiotoxic effects of this steroid as seen in the kidney, heart, and pancreatic, arterioles.
