Abstract
Considering an isotropic medium–uniaxial crystal interface, the coincidence of the two refracted rays is analysed. Possible solutions are shown by means of an algebraic, not just a numerical formulation. From the obtained solutions, for certain directions of the optical axis of the crystal, there are three directions in the crystal for which both rays coincide. Detailed analysis shows that there are three incidence angles for certain values of the index of the isotropic medium.
