Hematologic and Blood Chemistry Data for the Gorilla (Gorilla gorilla)

Abstract
The hemogram and blood chemistry profile are reported for the gorilla. Data were derived from analyses of samples collected from 15 gorillas of both sexes and varying ages. The values recorded for the gorilla are, with some exceptions, comparable to values reported for man. The most striking difference noted was markedly elevated serum cholesterol values for the gorilla as compared to man.
