Abstract

Continuous infusion of vecuronium or atracurium, with the rate adjusted to maintain the desired degree of neuromuscular blockade as assessed by a peripheral nerve stimulator, is currently the safest way to maintain neuromuscular blockade during a prolonged surgical procedure. The technique allows the greatest flexibility and control of the depth of neuromuscular blockade during surgery
