A short stroll in cyberspace

The Internet has an enormously high media presence. However, getting an overall impression of what it is and what it can do is difficult. Often people will generalise from their own experience and think that the Internet is just the services they happen to use or have seen in use. They may think they have access to all the Internet when they may in fact only have partial access. Nonetheless, there is a general impression that the Internet is likely to have an enormous impact in many fields, including business and education. The author provides a general survey of the significant features of the Internet. (3 pages)
