Abstract
An apparatus has been constructed for contact angle measurements between liquid metals and solids, and for measurement of the surface tension of liquid metals at high temperature by the sessile drop method. Measurements may be performed under dynamic vacua better than 1 μtorr to at least 1600°C, or under a reduced pressure of inert gas.
