Abstract
The authors have studied the post-collision interaction distortion of the Ne K-L2.32(1D2) Auger electron line excited by proton bombardment in the energy range 0.7-2.0 MeV. A systematic study of both the bombarding energy and the observation angle dependence has been performed for the first time. They have found the effect to be most pronounced at 0' observation angle and at the bombarding energy where the projectile and the outgoing Auger electron have about the same velocity. The results are in a reasonable agreement with theories which assume PCI between the Auger electron and the outgoing projectile.
