The Place of Social Science in Germany Today

Sociology, considered in the light of its individual problem is not history of philosophy, jurisprudence, national economy, or social politics; it is rather an empirical and independent science. When it develops its specific characteristics as a knowledge of the social processes, it can become at the same time the basis of the point of all other social sciences. And these social sciences, considered from this point of view, then appear as special fields of social action, that is to say, human interaction.
