Abstract
The work done year by year in the life insurance companies in connection with the valuation of life policies is very comprehensive. It is, therefore, important by the choice of methods for this work, to take into account at the same time other information which the methods give in addition to the amount of the life insurance fund, and which can be important for the actuary and for the direction of the company. Hitherto a method has not been worked out which gives all the information which could be of importance, with a reasonable amount of work. The opinion as to what will be the most useful additional information, varies from actuary to actuary and from time to time. — During the time of decreasing rate of interest that has taken place in Norway, attention has been drawn to methods which are capable of calculating the life insurance fund at different rates of interest, with a reasonable amount of work.
