Abstract

The results of an investigation of the muscular tissue radioactivity after the administration of radioactive potassium and rubidium is presented. The experiments were carried out in 2 groups of rats, 35 for each tested isotope. The isotope concentrations in the muscle insertions and muscle bellies were determined. A marked increase of activity in the muscular insertion samples was noted (50 to 100%). In addition, different accumulation of isotopes was noted in 2 different types of muscles. The results are to serve as an introduction into the investigation of denervated muscle electrolyte metabolism.
