Abstract
Total secondary electron coefficients in helium + 0·1% hydrogen and helium + 1·0% hydrogen have been calculated from the measured dependence of breakdown voltage on gas pressure. OFHC copper and molybdenum concentric cylinder electrodes were used with the inner conductor at positive potential. The variation of the secondary coefficients is presented as a function of E/p 0 at the cathode in the range 5-20 V cm −1 torr −1 .
