Abstract

The Naval Research Laboratory, Underwater Sound Reference Detachment, has developed a standard pressure gradient hydrophone that has a very stable response with hydrostatic pressure to 70 MPa and temperature from 3° to 30°C. The useful frequency range extends from 10 Hz to 8 kHz. The small size of the hydrophone (0.064 m in diameter) allows its use as a reference standard in our low-frequency pressure vessels.
