European Experience with Iopamidol

Approximately 200,000 neuroradiologic procedures have been performed with iopamidol since 1976. Myelography with iopamidol caused fewer and less severe adverse reactions particularly in terms of behavioral changes. Angiography was less painful with iopamidol and safer for coronary angiography in terms of myocardial metabolism. Nonionic iopamidol has a longer intravascular residence than classical ionic contrast media.
