Abstract
ABSTRACT The authors examine the major decision process goals and constraints that impact the investment decisions within the oil and gas industry. The goals and constraints, reported by 124 executives during a mail survey of the 1987 Oil & Gas Journal 400, were arranged in hierarchies that vary in importance from high to low. The results can serve as planning factors for goal setting and as a basis for managing by objectives.
