Abstract
The local-gauge commutation relation realizes the local gauge transformation property in the fully quantized operator theory of a non-abelian gauge field. This result, which has recently been established only for the linear covariant gauge, is extended to the case of general gauge fixing. It is pointed out that quantum electrodynamics is naturally embedded in the Weinberg-Salam electroweak theory if the Suzuki gauge is employed.
