Abstract

A linear hydrograph is described by the values of five parameters: the size of the drainage area (A), the amount of rainfall excess (Pe), the duration of rainfall excess (D), the translation time (T), and a storage index (k). The unit hydrograph, or any other linear flood hydrograph for a given basin, may be computed merely by incorporating the values of these parameters into a generalized, dimensionless model hydrograph.
