Abstract

Abstract (1) An overview of the MIRIAM identifier scheme is presented, together with a description of the supporting tools and resources which allow its use as a robust cross-referencing framework.(2) An overview of existing identifier schemes within the life sciences is presented, describing the status of each scheme, the prerequisites that a user must meet to use them, and their limitations.
