Abstract

Pure cerium oxide is excellently suited for polishing optical glass. Impurities of rare earths, especially praseodymium and neodymium, influence the properties of the cerium oxide polishing agent. An analytical process was developed for quantitative determination of cerium, samarium, praseodymium, and neodymium in the cerium oxide polishing agent by spectrophotometric methods. (tr- auth)
