Abstract
By combining an attractive but unproven ID-based key exchange protocol due to Okamoto with a non-authenticated but proven key exchange scheme proposed by McCurley , an ID-based key exchange is developed whose secrecy and authenticity are both provably as difficult to breach for a passive wire-tapper as it is to factor a composite modulus.
