Abstract
This paper elaborates on the output filter of the high power shunt Active Power Filter (APF). Aimed to reduce the switching ripple produced by APF itself injecting into the power grid, a scheme applying high-pass filter capacitor branch at the grid side is proposed. Based on the model of the output filter, design principle and process of it is provided and the relevant parameters of the high-pass filter branch are analyzed as well. Experimental results on a 260 kVA APF prototype verify the validity and availability of the proposed scheme.
