Abstract

The essential oil of Salvia multicaulis Vahl (Labiatae) collected from the suburb of Sari, north of Iran, in July 2004, was isolated by hydrodistillation and analyzed by means of GC and GC/MS. Fifty components were identified in the this oil. The major constituents of the essential oil were camphor (11.0%), 1,8-cineole (10.7%), borneol (8.6%) and α-pinene (7.5%).
