This paper studied the requirements of aeroplane airworthiness regulations and means of compliance for the aeroplane takeoff and landing performance on a contaminated runway. The procedure for certification of some type of aeroplane's performance on the contaminated runway was presented as an example of how to show compliance with the rules. Some relevant certification aspects of contaminated runways were discussed too. Flight tests significantly improve the accuracy of calculation results. More research is still required to be made on the method of flight test on different kinds of contaminant.
