The research of area calculation error is the base of discretization of area in discrete global grid system. The error source of discretization of area was analysed and a calculation experiment was designed to calculation the errors of discretization of area. The true area and discretization area were calculated. A relationship between area of triangular parting and partition level was given. The method to express area in discrete global grid system by selecting the appropriate partition level was also given.
