Glueballs and the helicity of the θ(1690)

Abstract

The helicity amplitudes observed by the Mark III and DM2 groups in Psi /J to gamma theta (1690) require a large admixture of L y =3. This is surprising for a qq state at this mass, but arises naturally if the theta is a glueball. A perturbative calculation for a (TM1) 2 glueball gives a result close to experiment, but not one for a (TE1) 2 glueball.
