Abstract

The abnormality of the reducell membrane proteins, in paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH) red cells and in PNH-like ones induced in vitro by D-penicillamine and N-acetyl-l-cysteine, is described. The electrophoresis was effected by a vertical urea starch-gel system. In PNH there is a loss of 5 protein bands and a diminution of one of the remaining bands, and in PNH-like red cells there is a loss of 2 or 3 protein bands.
