Abstract

Abstract Pan traps coloured yellow, “bright” green, white, and “young wheat” green were tested for their attractiveness to cereal aphids in Adelaide in winter/spring and summer. In winter/spring Rhopalosiphum padi (L.), Metopolophium dirhodum (Walker) and Sitobion nr fragariae (Walker) were attracted most strongly to yellow followed by “bright” green, while R. maidis (Fitch) was absent. Only R. maidis was trapped in large numbers during summer and again yellow and “bright” green were the most attractive.
