Abstract
Assuming that photons can interact weakly with neutrinos, the cross section for the neutrino bremsstrahlung [Formula: see text] has been calculated. From this, the rate of stellar energy loss due to neutrino pair emission has been derived and is compared with the result obtained on the basis of the current–current coupling theory. Also, for a comparative study, the neutrino luminosity has been calculated according to both the theories.
