Abstract
Abstract Kernel oils from different palms of Elaeis oleifera, F1 hybrids and back‐cross with Elaeis guineensis were analysed for iodine value, fatty acid and triglyceride composition. Kernel oils of F1 hybrids and back‐cross were close in fatty acid and triglyceride composition to that of E. guineensis. Kernel oils of E. oleifera showed a different triglyceride distribution pattern to that of E. guineensis.
