Abstract
The simultaneous measurement of multiple parameters by tilted fiber Bragg grating is an emerging area of research. The tilted fiber Bragg grating is a special short-period fiber grating in which the plane of the grating is intentionally tilted with respect to the fiber axis. The angle between the grating plane and fiber axis enables the transmission spectrum of the fiber to contain both core and cladding mode information which is a unique advantage. This article describes simultaneous measurements of temperature and strain using a tilted fiber Bragg grating.
