Abstract
Peptidylarginine deiminase (PAD) catalyzes the formation of citrullyl residues by deimination of arginyl residues of proteins in the presence of Ca2+. We found several deiminated proteins in mouse uterus using antibodies recognizing the citrulline residue. The levels of these proteins changed during the estrous cycle in parallel with PAD activity.
