Abstract

The vital staining of tissue matrix is an established technique in the study of cell biology, and acridine orange (AO) staining has proved to be a convenient and efficient means to determine tissue characteristics. This study shows that when A0 staining was used to examine tumor cells, lymphocytes, and cells infected with lymphadenopathy virus (LAV), it distinquished between the fluorescence of normal cell double-stranded nucleic acids (yellow green/green) and viral single-stranded nucleic acids (flame red).
