Abstract
The circuitry and the properties of a low-cost preamplifier/discriminator, using monolithic integrated emitter-coupled logic (ECL) circuits, are described. The resolution of input pulse pairs is better than 10 ns with output pulses of constant length. The circuit can be modified to meet special requirements (e.g. speed, output pulse shape).
