Abstract
The ability of soils to adsorb cadmium was measured for 30 surface soils and 3 levels of cadmium. The strength with which the adsoròed cadmium was held by the soils was assessed by determining the amounts extracted by normal ammonium acetate. The adsorption and desorption measurements were related to 16 soil characteristics using simple correlations and linear stepwise regression techniques.
