Abstract

Mortality of Blattella germanica (L.) ranged from 75 to 90% during the 7 weeks after treatment of enclosed kitchen cabinets with dichlorvos ministrips. A 50% mortality was recorded 12 weeks after treatment. A 1.5% malathion + 0.5% diazinon check gave significant control until termination of the check after 4 weeks. There were no significant differences in mortality between the dichlorvos ministrips and the malathion + diazinon spray, or within either treatment at the various observation intervals. There were almost 4 times as many dead cockroaches counted in the posttreatment observations as Jiving cockroaches counted in the pretreatment observation, indicating a movement of cockroaches into the test cabinets, possibly seeking food.
