Abstract
The influence of autumn soil cultivation (ploughing, chisel tillage and plowless tillage) and using nitrogen fertilizers (N30 and N60) on the number and biomass of weeds in barley crops for beer production was shown. It was established that the density of the weeds considerably decreased on the deeper cultivations and competition of barley increased while using nitrogen fertilizers. Autumn soil cultivation did not essentially influence the grain productivity of barley. Without using herbicides the maximum yield was formed on the variant of the chisel tillage, but it leveled off on all variants of soil tillage when nitrogen was applied.
