Abstract

The article discusses a study of emotional intelligence, hypothesizing that it is made up of four dimensions: emotional self-awareness, emotional other-awareness, emotional self-management, and emotional other-management. The article describes the methods of the study, wherein the self-ratings and manager ratings for 210 working adults enrolled in a management graduate program were studied. The article discusses the construct validation using multi-source data, but cautions that the research did not attempt a complete validation because it only examined the dimensionality and factor structure equality for the reported constructs.
