Abstract
Uterine glycogen levels in alloxan-diabetic spayed rats were higher than in the nondiabetic controls, confirming the work of others. This difference in uterine glycogen was not observed when the rats were treated uniformly with estradiol. Chronic insulin injections or adrenalectomy decreased the uterine glycogen in alloxan-diabetic spayed rats. Transitory changes in blood sugar levels had no effect on uterine glycogen levels in the diabetic spayed rats, but the evidence suggests that changes of approximately 48 hr duration alter the uterine glycogen levels.
