Abstract
Investigations were carried out on 180 rabbits irradiated with doses of 400, 800 and 1200 R and next contaminated intravenously with 137Cs, 1 or 6 days after irradiation. Radioactivity of muscles and internal organs of the rabbits was determined at different periods. It has been found that the course of radiocaesium distribution in irradiated rabbits was slower and it remained on a lower level that in the control animals and its retention in the organism was prolonged. These changes depended mainly on the dose of ionizing radiation and contamination time after irradiation.
