Abstract
Abstract A method for separating a pure gel and a soluble graft containing fraction from high impact polystyrene is described together with methods for determining the unsaturation of these two fractions and for the determination of unsaturation in polybutadiene rubber and unfractionated high impact polystyrene samples. The methods have been used to show how the rubber distributes between the gel and soluble fractions obtained from high impact polystyrenes prepared by the interpolymerization technique.
