Abstract
Blood pyruvate levels of a freshwater Indian Catfish, Heteropneustes fossilis, were investigated following sublethal manganese intoxication (3440 mg/l MnSO4·H2O; 0.8 of LC50 96 h). Blood pyruvic acid levels registered a statistically significant elevation at all exposure periods. Maximum elevation of 53.33% was observed at 96 h.
